D:! You need to be immediately commended on the coloring. GORGEOUS :-0 It's very mellow and pleasing to my eyes. His hair is so perfect. How? *0* You are a magician with staples pens. I would have also been curious to see the initial rough work.

I also prefer how you went with a lighter value/different color all together for her hair ;'D I would of just done one shade of black like a dork. I also apprectiate all the little details here and there that are put forward ;'m IE Her one little stray hair, the wrinkle shading on the fingers, the ears and eyes D: (

...I'm not in total disagreement with your comments about the expressions being sort of blank- but you shouldn't be so hard on yourself! This can be looked at in a totally different light in the context of something like seriousness or uncertainty. My ONLY critique is that the back of his neck looks very inflexible; maybe too thick-pained- Then again you know how Sheri does her necks *whistles*

Ha! Look at the sideburn. Undeniable. I think I recall someone saying he didn't have any when in fact many of of illustrations from the manga (you read yourself) bear witness to this. :scowls:

I APPROVE THAT IT IS A GOOD THING. I was iffy about this, since sometimes, I was all "omg, best thing I've done evar", while sometimes I thought something looked freakin' /off/ and I was re-creating a "hugly" experience. !! I actually still have the line art saved, and some in-between files : p I don't have gist/rough-rough work, as I build my gists into sketches and then into line art meant to be inked. I'm proud like a chicken about the colouring, since I pulled it off /once/. ++ Staples pens, young Jedi, are easy to wield. They just really hate being drawn on top of pencil lines [and whut do you think I have to do?? ;O;]

I KNOW OF WHUT YOU SPEAK. It was his shoulder/neck area which bugged the hell out of me. This would have been GODly if that wasn't there XDDD but his hand.....the hand I was proud of.....couldn't crop. FAIL D: I'll study the neck tho, and anatomy in general before I work on my next drawing.

........D-: omg, you just made me realize. I made the 'burns too far down. I noticed in the SPOILERSCANS that Manji had some definite sideburns [link] , while sometimes, it looks more like cheekbones [link]

You have my apologies, good sir. I'll also make note somewhere that his sideburns go about mid-ear :\ hmm. I really need to make a Manji Guide, as I keep messing up his character design T_T BAH. Plus, Wiki tells me Manji is about 26, [but due to his Immortal-worm-things, may be older]. But his face is so freaking strong and masculine. I would have sworn he was older :-0 ....maybe this makes the MxR pairing not quite as sinfully good as once was [but still good].

PURPLE was only fitting. I've grown attached to the colour ;-;~ <3

I noticed the purple-infatuation! ; m One of the things I like best about this is the kimono-like design in the background. How could you not mention it?! x 0 Did you do it yourself? It's fitting for the setting/characters and also provides some extra umph. That and the tiny scars on the lower part of his cheek, also some naice detail ~_~
I like your way of doing lips too : 0 More focus at the ends: those little pockets at the corners are one of my favorite parts of the lips I think : m

I love necks, what can I say x 0 lol~ I actually think the main issue might be all those lines in the front. Overwhelming and only provides the illusion it might be too thick, I think~ It would probably look better if these more minor features (jugular vein, Adam's apple, etc) were shaded rather than defined by lines? Something worth experimenting with at least~

Ouais, so ...only thing I can say at the moment about the BG is I wanted something traditional looking, and complementary, y'know? So close to actually having a yellow BG [o the thought], but then this fever hit me in a purple-loving-rush. Hmm.

NOW WITH THE NECK, DUDE, I agree XD When I was inking the neck, [also did this in my Gurren L piece], I was cringing. 'Cause I had no neck reference, and was doing it off the top of my head. BAD, I know ;-0 I'm trying to avoid hatching for these CG projects, so perhaps next time I'll aim for just shading them on PS.

........D: it seems like my gallery is full of experiments anyway instead of a collection of upper-crust polished finished art. *makes tea*
